Pac-12 Strikes AI, Integrity and Betting Data Deal With Genius Sports
New partnership covers official data distribution, sportsbook integrity controls, moment-based advertising, and performance analysis across football and men’s and women’s basketball.
The Pac-12 has entered a new multi-year partnership with Genius Sports that spans authorized betting, integrity monitoring, AI-powered data infrastructure, advertising, and team performance tools. Under the agreement, Genius Sports will deploy its GeniusIQ data and AI platform in every Pac-12 venue across football and men’s and women’s basketball, creating what the company described as a single foundation for data capture, video, real-time insights, and commercial activation.
A central piece of the deal is betting data distribution. Genius Sports will become the exclusive distributor of official Pac-12 data from those competitions to licensed sportsbooks worldwide. The company said it will also administer a new Authorized Gaming Operator program designed to protect competition integrity and student-athletes by removing risky bet types, increasing information-sharing and cooperation among the conference, Genius, and sportsbooks, and preventing prohibited bettors from placing wagers.
The agreement also includes a media and advertising component. Genius Sports said its Moment Engine will allow brands to activate advertising in real time around key moments in Pac-12 games across broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms. The company framed that as a way for advertisers to synchronize campaigns with live game action at scale using official data.
On the competitive side, Pac-12 schools will gain access to GeniusIQ-powered Performance Studio, a platform Genius said provides coaches and athletes with advanced analytics and video tools. The company said those tools are already used by the majority of NBA and WNBA teams.
Sports Business Journal described the arrangement as a wide-ranging deal touching commercial activations, sports gambling monitoring, and official data distribution, underscoring how broadly the partnership extends across the conference’s business and competitive operations.
The partnership is also notable in the college landscape because it combines several threads that are increasingly converging around official data: integrity enforcement, sportsbook licensing, media monetization, and AI-enabled performance analysis. Last year, the NCAA expanded its own Genius Sports partnership through 2032 around official data and sportsbook controls tied to championship events, but the Pac-12 deal applies those principles at the conference level across regular-season football and basketball inventory.
