Dolby OptiView Launches AI-Powered Sports Intelligence Platform
New platform uses real-time viewer intelligence and AI to personalize live sports, automate highlights, increase engagement, and support more contextual advertising.
Dolby OptiView has introduced its new Sports Intelligence Platform, an AI-powered system designed to help sports rights holders and streaming providers understand viewer behavior in real time and personalize live sports experiences around individual fan interests.
The platform, which Dolby OptiView is showcasing at IBC 2026, analyzes how viewers engage with live sports, including which moments hold attention, when engagement begins to decline, and which content can bring viewers back into the experience. Those signals can then be used to surface relevant game moments, personalized content, highlights, and advertising without requiring fans to manually configure their viewing preferences.
Sports Intelligence is being added to Dolby OptiView’s existing portfolio of Player, Streaming, and Ads products. The system is designed to detect key moments during games and automatically assemble highlights while applying contextual intelligence to determine which moments may be most relevant to different audiences.
The AI capabilities extend beyond automated clipping. Dolby OptiView says the platform can generate game catch-ups, player highlights, and enriched experiences that connect live action with archival content. Those outputs can be distributed across live streams, video-on-demand libraries, and social channels.
Viewer engagement data also feeds the personalization layer. Rather than requiring users to select every preference themselves, Sports Intelligence can identify relevant content based on how individual viewers interact with the experience. Dolby OptiView is targeting longer viewing sessions, stronger subscriber retention, and increased fan loyalty through the system.
Advertising is integrated into the same technology stack. Dolby OptiView is a certified Google Ad Manager technology partner, and its monetization products can use viewer intelligence to support personalized and contextual advertising while matching ad quality with the underlying video stream.
The platform is designed to connect advertising, personalization, and content engagement within the same live viewing environment rather than operating those functions through separate systems.
Dolby OptiView Streaming provides the delivery layer underneath those capabilities, using low-latency synchronized streaming to keep viewers watching the same live moment across devices. That synchronization can support sports betting, social interaction, and other experiences where delays between viewers can affect engagement.
The Dolby OptiView Player delivers personalized content and advertising across supported devices while incorporating Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The player supports ad insertion and can receive personalized content generated through Sports Intelligence.
The platform is modular, allowing rights holders and streaming providers to deploy Sports Intelligence independently or combine it with Dolby OptiView Streaming, Dolby OptiView Ads, and Dolby OptiView Player within an existing technology stack.
The system also connects fan engagement with streaming monetization. Viewer intelligence can influence both the content presented to an individual fan and the timing and relevance of advertising, while automated content creation gives rights holders additional ways to generate highlights and other programming from the same live event.
Dolby OptiView is demonstrating Sports Intelligence and its broader live sports streaming portfolio at IBC 2026 alongside its monetization, low-latency streaming, and playback technologies.
