HPE Returns for 2027 Ryder Cup With Self-Driving Network

At Adare Manor, HPE plans a Wi-Fi 7 network and an expanded AI-powered operations center for tournament staff.

HPE will return as a Worldwide Supplier of the 2027 Ryder Cup, providing networking and tournament-operations technology for the event at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland. The competition is scheduled for Sept. 17–19, 2027.

The planned deployment centers on what HPE calls its Self-Driving Network. Using Wi-Fi 7, the system is intended to connect fans, volunteers, media, staff and operational devices across the 230-acre tournament site, including the course, grandstands, hospitality areas, media compounds and operations centers. HPE said the network will monitor conditions and adjust user experiences in real time to help prevent connectivity issues.

HPE also plans to expand the Connected Intelligence Center it introduced at the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black. Powered by HPE Private Cloud AI and developed by HPE Services, the center is designed to combine tournament data, AI models and tools in one operational view. Organizers would use it to monitor activity, spot emerging issues and make decisions during the event. HPE described its longer-term aim as IT systems that can increasingly anticipate problems and adapt workflows; the 2027 capabilities have not yet been demonstrated at the event.

“It's a perfect proving ground for HPE’s latest technology innovations across networking, AI and cloud” — Matt Harris, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, UK, Ireland, Middle East and Africa, HPE

Michael Cole, Chief Technology Officer of Ryder Cup Europe, said the continued work with HPE would “give our teams the connectivity and intelligence needed” for the event.

The partnership began at the 2018 Ryder Cup in Paris and continued at the 2023 event in Rome. HPE became a Worldwide Supplier for the 2025 Ryder Cup, where the first Connected Intelligence Center brought network, AI and operational data together for real-time monitoring. The company said the 2027 project moves beyond visibility toward more proactive operations.

HPE and Ryder Cup organizers expect more than 250,000 spectators on site. The technology announcement did not disclose financial terms of the supplier arrangement.
