Red Bull describes how its Oracle-developed tool moved from searching regulations to recommending race decisions.

Oracle Red Bull Racing says an AI tool developed with title partner Oracle is helping its engineers make decisions during Grands Prix, extending the partnership’s role in race operations.

Motorsport.com reported that Jack Harington, Red Bull’s head of technical and performance partnerships, described the system’s evolution in an interview with CNBC. It began as a search tool for regulations and previous rulings, then developed into an agentic system that recommends actions during races.

“It’s actually making decisions for us.” — Jack Harington, Head of Technical and Performance Partnerships, Oracle Red Bull Racing

Harington cited the opening lap of the 2025 Italian Grand Prix. After Max Verstappen went off at Monza’s first chicane while contesting the lead with Lando Norris, the tool recommended returning the position to reduce penalty risk. According to Harington’s account, the team followed that advice despite initially favoring a different call.

Verstappen subsequently retook the lead and won. The FIA classification records a 19.207-second margin over Norris; it does not assess the AI tool’s contribution.

Oracle and Red Bull announced a multiyear extension of their title partnership in February 2026. That announcement described an AI strategy agent designed to work alongside engineers, automate data collection, interpret historical and live race inputs, and surface insights as conditions change.

The expanded agreement also covers Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for race simulations and the Red Bull Ford Powertrains hybrid power unit, plus Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications for finance, HR and marketing.

The October account offers a race example from 2025. Oracle’s February announcement outlined further implementation for 2026; the two accounts do not establish that every capability in the newer agent was operating at Monza.
