The two deals extend Fastbreak Travel into club trips and cheer-and-dance events, adding new leadership and travel-management capabilities.

Fastbreak AI has acquired Groupbook and Competition Travel, expanding its Fastbreak Travel business beyond tournament housing into club and team trips and cheer-and-dance competitions. The Charlotte-based company announced the deals Oct. 6. Both businesses will operate under the Fastbreak Travel umbrella. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Groupbook serves more than 2,500 youth clubs and tournament organizers, according to Fastbreak. Its platform connects families with a network of more than 30,000 hotels and supports team communications, waivers, payments and trip logistics. Founder and CEO Doug Freeman joins Fastbreak as general manager of club travel. He will lead a new Fastbreak Travel for Clubs offering, to be available within the company’s Fastbreak AI for Clubs platform.

Competition Travel, founded in 2014 by Susan Tucker, supports more than 500 events annually, according to the announcement. Its work spans hotel strategy, ground transportation, practice facilities and on-site logistics for cheer, dance and international event producers. Tucker joins as vice president of concierge travel.

The acquisitions follow Fastbreak’s purchase of GroupHousing earlier this year. That transaction brought tournament-operator contracts, hotel relationships and reservations staff into Fastbreak Travel. The company says its travel business now books hundreds of thousands of room nights annually across North America and serves national governing bodies, event operators, sports commissions, clubs, coaches and families. Fastbreak offers the travel platform both within its amateur sports software and as a standalone product.

Fastbreak’s broader sports operations business includes AI-powered scheduling tools used by professional leagues. The new acquisitions add service operations and customer relationships in two travel categories.
