SLU Pairs First Jersey Sponsorship With WWT AI Partnership
Saint Louis University’s first jersey patch deal with World Wide Technology includes responsible AI advice, data initiatives and potential workforce training.
World Wide Technology will advise the university on responsible AI and data as its logo debuts across Billiken Athletics uniforms.
Saint Louis University has named World Wide Technology its first official jersey patch partner in an expanded agreement that combines athletics sponsorship with university technology and artificial intelligence initiatives.
Announced Oct. 7, the agreement places the WWT logo on all Billiken Athletics team uniforms, with the branding scheduled to debut at games this fall. The company will also serve as a strategic adviser and collaborator on technology, data and responsible AI.
The collaboration extends beyond athletics to university research, digital experiences and operating efficiency. WWT President Joe Koenig told FOX 2 that student experience, fan experience and workforce management were among the priorities.
“What World Wide has done, we’ve learned a lot, with the companies that we deal with every day.” — Joe Koenig, President, World Wide Technology
The university and company are also exploring workforce development collaborations through degree programs and specialized training offered by SLU colleges and its Center for Workforce Development. Those programs remain under exploration rather than a confirmed rollout.
The agreement expands an existing relationship that includes internships, mentoring, philanthropy and academic and athletic engagement. WWT Co-Founder and CEO Jim Kavanaugh and Koenig are SLU alumni and former Billiken soccer players.
Financial terms and the agreement’s duration were not disclosed in the announcements reviewed. No specific fan-facing AI product, deployment schedule or measured performance results were announced.
