BCCI Signs Gemini AI Sponsorship Deal Ahead of IPL 2026
Three-year agreement adds Google’s Gemini to the IPL sponsorship mix ahead of the 2026 season.
The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Google’s AI platform Gemini ahead of IPL 2026, while Gemini’s rival, ChatGPT, is already part of the sponsorship lineup around the Women’s Premier League.
The agreement adds another major technology brand to Indian cricket’s commercial ecosystem and highlights the growing role AI companies are beginning to play in sports sponsorship. IPL.com positioned the Gemini deal as another sign of the league’s continued commercial pull heading into the 2026 season.
The BCCI adjusted parts of its sponsorship portfolio last year after the Indian government banned real-money gaming platforms such as Dream11. Apollo Tyres then became the new jersey sponsor, while Tata Group remained title sponsor of the IPL.
When ChatGPT’s WPL partnership was announced in November, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said, “From global leaders in AI, manufacturing and beverages to trusted Indian consumer brands, this partnership mix will play a critical role in shaping the fan experience and supporting the growth of women’s cricket.”
IPL 2026 is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 31, giving Gemini a high-visibility platform across one of the world’s biggest sports properties.
