Accenture Details NFL Data and AI Work Across Payroll, Analytics and Scouting
Accenture says its NFL consulting work now spans Oracle Cloud payroll and analytics, international scouting and market intelligence.
The league’s five-year consulting partnership has expanded from back-office systems to international player and market analysis.
Accenture has detailed how its work with the NFL is moving from finance and human-resources systems into football scouting and international expansion. The companies announced a five-year agreement in May 2024 naming Accenture the league’s official business and technology consulting partner. A Sept. 23 Sportcal explainer revisited the relationship with Borja Sordo de la Peña, an Accenture managing director.
The original agreement identified three areas for data-driven decision-making: football, financial operations and human resources. In a case study, Accenture says it helped the league streamline payroll and now manages its Oracle Cloud human-capital-management and enterprise-resource-planning systems. The work covers HR, payroll, talent and finance applications.
Accenture says it also expanded the NFL’s Oracle Cloud deployment to use Fusion Analytics across HR and finance. According to the company, the league has centralized reporting, improved its ability to resolve payroll issues and reduced financial redundancies. Accenture did not publish quantified savings or time reductions in the case study.
The partnership’s football work includes the International Player Pathway, which identifies athletes outside the U.S. with NFL potential. Accenture says it is applying data models to player attributes such as height, weight and age and supplying analysis to the NFL’s international scouting leadership. Separately, it is providing market intelligence to assess potential markets for the league’s global growth.
Accenture became an official sponsor of the NFL’s 2025 International Games in addition to its consulting role. That sponsorship followed the business-and-technology agreement; the companies have not disclosed its financial terms.
