Dodgers Menu Graphics Draw AI-Creative Criticism From Fans
Fans questioned the food artwork on Dodgers concession boards before the NLDS opener, while postseason menu prices also drew attention.
Concession-board food images drew online complaints ahead of the club’s NLDS opener against Atlanta, alongside scrutiny of postseason prices.
Images of Los Angeles Dodgers concession menus circulated online before the club hosted the Atlanta Braves in Game 1 of the National League Division Series on Oct. 3. Some fans said the food artwork on the boards appeared to be AI-generated, while others focused on the prices.
Sports reporter Arash Markazi shared images of the menus from Dodger Stadium. The boards listed a hot dog combo at $59.99, a nacho combo at $34.99 and a 45-piece wing combo at $89.99, according to the images and subsequent reporting. A Hello Kitty popcorn bucket was listed at $59.99.
One reply to the images called the artwork “AI Slop food graphics inside a stadium, how far we’ve fallen.” Other commenters questioned the use of computer-generated-looking illustrations on fan-facing concession boards. The available reporting does not establish how the Dodgers produced the images, so the AI characterization remains a fan allegation.
The discussion followed separate criticism of AI-looking broadcast graphics during a recent NFL telecast, extending the scrutiny of synthetic-looking sports creative from television to in-venue displays. The Dodgers have not publicly detailed a production process for the menu artwork in the cited reports.
